Susie is fine with her crate. She rests in it on her own. She doesn’t like the door shut when you are home! The first night she was whining softly so I slept on the couch in the nearby room. Tonight I’ll see how she does on a blanket on the floor in our bedroom. Here she is as I was leaving chewing a bone all content as can be. Good girl Suz!!! 🐶

Susie is here!
Susie arrived on Friday afternoon. Black Friday... I guess she was the deal of the day!
She is a nice girl! She likes to jump up a little to say hello but just a little! Nothing annoying. She likes or I should say LOVES all people! She greeted my dogs who are small with a very waggy tail. I gave her a bath and she stood still for the bath and brush and little bit of stray hair clipping. Susie ate well and drank her water and seems potty trained.
She likes toys and enjoys resting in her crate. She is not familiar with laying on furniture so stays grounded to the floor. A nice big dog bed would be wonderful!

So he is very happy and so are we! The best news ever... yes he will always need these drops in his eyes but still it’s basically a cure for his problems!
Next Wednesday he meets his future family.
Way to go Georgie!!! 🎉

Keeping warm!
On a very cold and snowy night Georgie has found the best seat in the house! He’s doing so well this week!! All his potty probs have been managed. Almost zero piddles on the puppy pads. He’s sleeping with us at night. I put on a belly band and it’s dry in the morning. His water is always available and he isn’t drinking too much. Yes we still take him out more! Some days are better than others. He has a tendency to lick things at night. I think it’s boredom. Once we play fetch he does better. He would love a doggy playmate. Mine kinda ignore him. He loves walks and we need to do one a day to keep him happy and less bored. At least that’s my opinion. Today he got to play in the snow a bit. He learned sit so fast so next we will work on down. Georgie is a smart cookie!

Snuggling
Georgie has from day one been a sweetie. Yet... it took a couple months for him to truly trust me.
Georgie allows me to put in his eye drops. 2 drops in each eye twice a day. He’s become my pal and now rests his head on my lap and snuggles close. He still loves the floor and dog beds but couches and laps are gaining a place in his world too.
He’s always been sweet but now we are gaining a real bond and he will love and bond with others after me. Georgie has come a long way!!!
💚💙💚
It sounds like he may have even found his forever family!!!

Another check
Another check at the vet today. Georgie is still not concentrating his urine. We doubled the meds again. Another check next week.
Good news is he’s not drinking water like crazy. So some progress is happening.
We will keep hoping for success!

Georgie is a special one!
G-man sits like this all the time! One leg sticking out and cuddled by your feet as you stand. Often between your legs. Here he is by my sons feet. He LOVES men!
Here is Georgie sitting “between” my feet while I’m working at the counter. You get used to him doing this but watch out so you don’t trip! He’s very quiet and suddenly he’s by your feet all tucked in. Lol. It’s a quirky Georgie-thing! We love it though!!!
How is his medical problem going?
Well he’s being treated for Diabetes Insipidus. You can look it up. #googleit
He gets two drops in his eye twice daily. It’s helping, I think, but it’s not perfect. He is no longer gulping down water. He is still not concentrating his urine like a normal dog but we will see at the next appointment if any progress is made. He is going out to potty less but again not perfect. It’s manageable. We are doing fine. He’s happy. There is lots to tell about this but too much to write here. Let’s just say he’s a non typical Westie in lots of ways!
Yet he’s very typical in that he’s irresistible! Most Westies are. 💚
