Snuggle power

I was gone all day so Star is ready to snuggle.
She would never have done this when we first got her. Takes some time and she will get there.

No more sneezes!

Look at her... 💋

I just read Stars profile on petfinder and it made me realize that Star never sneezes anymore. Yay! She is now in very good health!
She also never worries about her collar/neck area anymore. When she first came here she yiped and ducked down when I touched near her collar… I don’t know what that was ...but she’s over it.
At this point Star is just a model little dog. And we just love her! 💗
I have a habit of calling her Star-Star and don’t know why but that’s her name here. Haha!
I’m excited for some lucky ducky to love our Star-Star as much as we do.
Something about her... just so sweet!

Star is so special...

Star in her pink! 🎀💓🎀
So I’m gonna be kinda picky on who Star goes to because she’s made TONS of progress here and she  is so special to me. Her life has seen too many changes.
Here are my wishes for Star ⭐️:
A nice couple without kids or with older kids.
No crate used. She doesn’t like. Doesn’t need.
A physically fenced yard suited for a small dog.
Maybe another small dog who is also kind and sweet.
A person who does not need or want a “therapy” dog.
Someone with patience and love to give to her.
Keep her name as Star. She knows it and has had it a long time. ⭐️⭐️
Not a difficult list. Is this YOU?!?💖

It’s official!

It’s finally here... adoption day for Sally now named Josie!

Bye sweet girl💖

Hello and happy tales 😁!
Adopted and loved... #congrats❣️

Great Saturday!

Star stands to look outside! Hilarious!!! 🤣

Both my fosters. Sally had the 9 pups but is getting spayed on Tuesday. She and Star get along fine now! Love both soooo much!!!

Sally or Josie (her adoptive name) is gorgeous!!!

Wins best ears!💗

Star’s tummy troubles are much better. She’s on some meds from the vet and will be fine. Star has come a long way from the day she came to my house. She’s just a wonderful little doggy. Such a lover once she trusts you. It takes a little time. Star sleeps with me now and I’m hoping at her forever home that’s where she will land. She’s a great bed pal. Does not move!
Hope you have a great day! We plan on it!!!🌞

Tummy ache

Star has a little loose poo and a tummy ache. Hope she’s better very soon. She is snuggled in her blankly! Sweet sweet Star. 💗

Sleepy girl

One of Star’s favorites sleeping positions!
The back sleeper.
She is a relaxed girl ... love her front paws bent so cute.
Tonight we are going to try having her sleep in a crate just to see if she can. I’ll let you know if it works. If it doesn’t I’m not one to listen to her cry. She will be set free quickly.

UPDATE: Star was fine in her crate till 12:30 am when she had to go out to poop. Ever since then she’s had diarrhea problem and we have a girl who is a little sick. I did find out though from my husband she does not like the crate when he’s out in the yard. She whines.
All in all, I don’t think Star is a real fan of the crate. So, no crate for Star!  If you would like Star as your pup...you probably don’t need a crate for her. She would appreciate that! ☺️

Let’s try again!

Ready to go for a walk 🥰

Running to me as I called her name!

Guess who came back as my foster? Miss Star!!!
Star was adopted but it didn’t turn out to be the correct placement.
Star should stay named Star in my opinion. She has always been Star. In fact her original mama may have spelled it Starr. It says Starr on her paperwork from Alabama. Anyway, Miss Star is a favorite of mine!! She is house trained, she is calm, she likes everybody and she doesn’t chew up my things. Those are all high scores in my book. The reason Star was returned was because I believe it was just not a good fit and the woman insisted on crating her which Star doesn’t like and she barks and cries.  Star was super stressed and let’s just say, as her foster mom, “I’m glad she’s back home with me”. We will try again when the right match is found. I love Star to pieces and think she’s a cute doll.
We are looking for somebody who also thinks she’s a doll and who has possibly owned a Chi or terrier before.  If you love the breed you will love Star!!!⭐️

Happy Saturday! 🐇

We were trying to play a board game sitting on the floor. I guess Josie felt she wanted in! We love to offer our laps but not every time she wants to... and believe me... she loves a lap! I guess this is something she will need to practice. #lapdistancing

Getting her way...

My son on phone... she sneaks in between his arms. Ha!

Trying to make soup.., she wants the carrots!

She doesn’t jump up... she “steps up” onto my lap. It’s so funny.

So basically she now acts like she owns the place! This morning she plopped onto my lap during my Wed morning women’s Bible study meeting so she was on Zoom. It is amazing how different she acts from day one!
I’ve been looking at her and wondering if she has some Portuguese Water Dog in her. That curly hair and the markings? Would love to hear if a DNA test ever gets done!

Much Better!!!

Morning update:
Josie slept all night in her crate without a sound! What a change! 🙌🏻  I think she is beginning to appreciate the quiet life here. Today: She ate breakfast quickly, did business outside, back in for her treat and she loves attention from people. 💚
Here we are outside early morning in the picture above and all she wants is petting! 🥰 Basically she’s just an easy peasy dog to hang out with.
Josie is very polite and has never gotten into anything to this point. She does not seem to have interest in toys. Things could change but this is what I see so far.
So happy for the good nights sleep!

First night

GOOD MORNIN’ WORLD!

Sweet face🌻💛
Well we had a long sleepless night. 😜
First I tried a crate. Whining.
Second the bedroom. Pacing.
Third I moved us both back to the main floor. I took the couch. She laid down by midnight.
At 4:30 she threw up. Just yellow slime. Cleaned it up.
Now up at 6:30. Have to go to work. Yawn.
Tried a walk and put her in a vest as she looks full of milk. Nope. She was not interested.
So she’s back inside resting.
She will do better tonight. First night is often RUFF! 🐶
I’m sure her doggy boobies are uncomfortable too.
Good news is she ate well. Pottied and pooped in the yard.
She is so sweet. Can’t help but ❤️ her.

Saturday chilling

Star is a very quiet girl. She barks or howls if she needs to go outside to do her business! I have a fenced yard and that is working out very well. I no longer have her dragging a leash around as she is starting to feel comfortable and I am able to pick her up now. She still likes my husband and sons best, makes me wonder if her former owner was a man.
Star slept on our bed last night in a fuzzy wuzzy dog bed and she stayed in it all night until morning.
She has been fine going out in the rain to do her potty’s and when I call her she comes right in the door. She spends most of her day resting in a dog bed in our front room as she likes to watch me and sometimes she follows me around. She loves human companionship but she’s so far has not wanted to sit on my lap too much. This could change. Star will jump up on the couch by me when invited.
Star is still healing from her spayed operation so we are just letting her chill out! She is a very easy keeper and would make a nice pet for a couple or anybody who doesn’t have little kids as she would get too nervous with little ones running.
I totally love having Star at my house and feel very fortunate to have her as my foster!! 💓

Day one with Star

I’m home from work now and Star is happy to see me! ☺️ She was home with my husband today and he thinks she’s a sweetie, too. We have not done any more than the petting you see here. No picking her up yet. Just letting her set the pace. Patience will pay off!

Star loves a soft bed!

Nobody has to teach her the art of begging! 🤣

New pics

Sweeeeeet girl!

STAR!!!

Tail still tucked but getting less scared by the second!

Star when she first meets you is fearful. I tried to hook on a leash yesterday and she ducked and screamed and nipped. Today I did not try to do anything... and she is seeking out pets and attention on her own terms. She likes men and women and wants to be loved but needs time to trust. She just seems afraid that you are going to hurt her. So, going slow with her is a must!!!
Star certainly is a cutie!!!
I’m already in love with her!!! ❤️

She’s here!

Star is here... but very tired. What a day!
She has beautiful shiny black fur. Very striking colors. So far quiet and cautious.
Star found the dog bed and seems very content to snooze away.
Prob tomorrow the anesthesia will be out of her system more and she will perk up!

Star’s big day...

Star is having a Spay Day!
Afterwards she will be groggy and sleepy so the perfect time to load her in the car and bring her north to my house in the Green Bay Area!
Star will arrive early evening so you can check back and I’ll post more…
Getting excited to meet Star!

Pending Adoption

Thursday is the big day!
Can’t wait to meet my new mommy and daddy!
I hear they live high in the sky!!!

Car rides

Tony went for a ride in the dog car seat. He is just learning to stay seated. He would prefer to sit in my lap as I drive and that is never a safe way to transport a dog. I put a harness on Tony and then snapped it into the dog car seat so he was very safe riding. Now he is learning that he needs to stay “in the car seat”... but for the first time trying he did super well!!!
He will keep improving as we practice! 🚗

More Tony...

Does this ever happen to you? Sucked into Facebook and dogs are ready for bed?
Tony sure loves attention and petting and FOOD!! He is a professional beggar.
Proof!!!
At the table... you eatin’?
Me too?!?

First walk

I encourage you to use a harness. Best way to walk a dog. It is safe from back outs of a collar and no pressure on neck. Tony is doing well for his first time around!! 🥰

Loves to snuggle!
❤️💙💚

Terrific Tuesday!

Ears flying back!
“Good Morning World”

Sluuuurp!

Happy greetings from Tony this morning plus a long drink of water. Tony slept great again in his crate in our room. If you prefer he also would enjoy bedtime snuggles on the people bed, I’m sure! Lol!
This morning he walked around squeaking his fav toy. He loves a good squeaker!!! 😁
Again did all his potties outside. He eats slowly but does finish off the bowl. Great morning with a very happy boy!!!

Squeaky toys are a MUST!!!

Meet Tony!!!

Welcome to Wisconsin, Tony! He arrived to my home last night from Alabama and he’s wonderful! He is loving to you the minute you meet him giving hugs n kisses. Tony is fun and playful but not hyper. He slept fine in our bedroom in a crate last night and in the morning ate his breakfast slowly and went outside and did his business.
I had a man over doing some work in my house today and he loved Tony too and he was just the perfect little pup while the worker was here. If you are looking for a sweet gentle dog here he is!!! I will tell you more about him in the days ahead!!! We are super excited to welcome Tony into our home until he finds his forever family… I don’t think it’ll be very long!!
