Foster Dog Love blog is here to help you get to know my foster dog through pictures, videos and description. Then you can decide if he/she is the right dog for you! Think about the dog’s size, your lifestyle and your time! Consider your family and household dynamics. Consider the dog’s temperament and breed. My foster dog is looking for a committed lifelong relationship... you will be his or her world! ❤️
Today Murphy got a bunch of new toys. He deserved some new ones and loves toys so much! He needs tuff ones or the stuffing will come out! I got him some tuggy ones and Chewie ones. He also likes hoofs and deer antlers that are split. I notice at night he’s more hyper than any time of day but right around 8pm he starts settling down. Kinda like a toddler. So if you can survive Murphy’s bewitching hours you also will get to enjoy his snuggling hours. ❤️
Murphy keeps busy with chew toys. He likes all kinds!!
He doesn’t chew anything of mine except laundry. He is a stealer of laundry. Clean or dirty. He thinks chase is a blast so we just exchange treats for socks! Haha!!! ๐งฆ
Murphy has melded into the gang. He’s settled in and we love him dearly. He’s housebroken, loving, silly and so cuddly. I would be happy if he stayed here a long while. He’s such an easy dog! The barking is just part of him and we throw treats and he settles down.
I’m off to work in a bit but just wanted you to know how wonderful he is and how blessed we are to foster him! He’s a dog that wiggles into your heart and puts a forever paw print on it.
He keeps a smile on his face even then and is so snuggly. Here he is in the crook of my legs. ๐ฅฐ
By the way, ever since I got him groomed he does not shed much. I brush him every few days and nothing is coming out right now. My terrier sheds more than Murphy!
Will he blow his undercoat in the spring? I’d assume so.
After we found out Murphy’s applicants chose to keep “dog shopping” instead of loving Murph the Fluff-ball we decided to go freeze off some disappointment and energy at the West DePere Dog Park.
It was fun until the wind kicked up and Murphy was in his element and foster mom wondered why she didn’t wear a better hat and warmer coat. Ugh! ❄️
Catching Murphy when he’s in party mode is like entering a greased pig contest. Luckily I figured he’d be a wild child and brought along some dog treats and they helped to corner him by the entrance while he greeted a newcomer! Murph ate his treat while I snapped on his leash. Bye big doggies! I’m taking the yappy one home.
I think we need to start a Murphy fan club. He’s a special boy who needs a little more pub than the easy sell straight laced doggies. :) Haha! He’s cute enough to be a rock star!
At the park he ran and zoomed and tumbled through the snow. He wanted to play with all the big dogs but foster mom said he had to stay on the little dog side of the fence ~she’s such a party pooper!
Of course he did his Murphy barks but they were happy barks just trying to play with the other dogs... Till some people came over to admire him and then of course he barked at them because he doesn’t like strange people but ...everybody just laughed at him as he’s very nonconfrontational!
When we got home we ate supper and Murphy took a nice long nap in his crate.
Tomorrow’s a new day and who knows, maybe his person is searching for him right now! We know his furever adopter is out there somewhere... he or she just has to find Murphy!!! ๐พ
Murphy had a nice walk! He likes to sniff. We met a man shoveling and woman pushing a garbage can. He didn’t like the garbage can much and did a couple of quiet woofs but overall he did really well. When we got home I let him run around the backyard some more and then we went in as you see in the last part of the video. :) #twirls

Fuzzy Wuzzy Murphy laying next to me on a couch pillow while I watch the college football national championship with my husband. It was his first day to be in the crate while I went to work. Today I was gone about 5 hours and he was happy to see me when I got home. He spins in his crate like crazy when he’s happy...and then did yard zoomies. Now tonight he’s enjoying some family down time on the couch next to me. What a cutie! Every day he’s getting more comfy! Good to see.
Murphy is adjusting to our home. He’s barking less. Getting to know who belongs. He loves the back yard too. So a little game of ball happened although he doesn’t really bring it back. Just chased it.
I had to pick up my youngest from work. Murphy and my Yorkie named Asti wanted to go along. Both are good car riders. When Murphy sees people he barks at them. He barked a lot at my son when he got in the back...but we distract him. Once my son was in and Murphy was settled down he was fine and rode great. We are working on this barking by making seeing new people a good thing. Murphy gets distracted with toys or treats by us when he’s barking. It puts his mind on something else. He will bark but it’s all bark. Soon he’s over it. He bonds tight to his mom. So right now that’s me. Foster-mom. ๐ He’d be a great watch dog for a single woman. Haha!
Murphy is fun! If you need a slow quiet and lazy dog pleeeease do not apply for Murphy. Lol! His mind is brite and his body is busy. I love spending time interacting with my dogs and Murphy loves his people and things to do. Make up games with him but also give him rest. He needs both. He’s currently snuggled next to my lil’ Yorkie with me on the love seat. Today we worked a little on “brushing”, something Murphy isn’t fond of, and with praise and belly rubs he did pretty well.
It’s Saturday so we have time to hang out together. We are all enjoying this cold snowy day in Jan... I imagine snow is a favorite of Murphy’s. Lol!
So far Murphy has met my dogs and loves them. Perfectly calm meeting. He barked like crazy at my son and husband but they know to ignore him and toss treats... after a lot of fosters they know the drill!! ๐ Murphy loves my fenced yard! Loves to prance around and explore all the smells. He’s been here one hour at writing this. His world just changed dramatically. Time and Love and he will be fine. We already are smitten!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Bryce and Parson had a blast! We stayed in the small dog area. Bryce likes to be a typical terrier and bark, with a waggy tail, at the big dogs along the fences. So I think small dog area is def best!
Happy face when we got home!
Zonked out!!! #missionaccomplished
If you have not been following Bryce’s FB page then now is the time as I put different (sometimes) posts there. I took a video at the dog park and posted it on Facebook, Foster Dog Love. Check it out!!!
